Is the Houston lifestyle scene active in summer or does everyone flee the heat?
We just moved to Houston from Colorado and heard summers here are brutal. Does the lifestyle scene slow down when it's 100 degrees with 90% humidity? Or do people just adapt?

Welcome to Houston! The scene absolutely does NOT slow down in summer — if anything, it picks up. Here's the thing about Houston: everyone has central AC cranked to 68 degrees, so indoor clubs like Colette Houston and Pendulum Club are perfectly comfortable year-round. Plus, summer is when the private pool parties really kick into gear. Houston homes tend to have big backyards with pools, and lifestyle couples take full advantage. We've been to pool parties in Katy, Sugar Land, and The Woodlands that were some of the best nights of the year. The only thing that slows down is outdoor vanilla activities — everyone escapes to the coast (Galveston, Crystal Beach) on weekends. Some lifestyle groups even organize beach house weekends.

Texans don't flee the heat — we just drink more margaritas and turn up the AC. Seriously though, summer is prime time. XCLUSIV Lifestyle does amazing summer events, and The Night Game picks up too. The humidity does mean you'll sweat the moment you step outside, so leave time to freshen up between dinner and the club. But the clubs themselves are cool and comfortable.
